R6 header mod
I see alot of people are running a R6 header. I do not know alot about this. What are the advantages over the stock FZR header or other aftermarket headers?

Re: R6 header mod
Much cheaper than after market and larger than stock. Recommended if you've done any intake work.

Re: R6 header mod
Hey, how can I tell the difference with an R6 header and an FZR header? I'm asking cause the PO said he installed a larger header (i'm assuming from an R6)...I've been wanting to see if this is true. I can post pics if needed.
Re: R6 header mod
An R6 header will be a 4-2-1 design instead of having the "manifold" style that FZR headers have. He may have put an aftermarket header on though. Pics would be the easier way to identify.houseforsaken wrote:Hey, how can I tell the difference with an R6 header and an FZR header? Re: R6 header mod
changing something like a header for "more power", i suggest going to a reputable shop for a dyno to readjust your air to fuel ratio. having that mixture correct makes the biggest difference in getting the power that is available from the bike.
changing the airbox intake on my 400 to a 600 intake (and modifying the amount of air it flows) then getting the air fuel ratio right, i made about a 20% increase in hp from stock.
so putting a higher flow exhaust may also benefit even more with larger jetting and more air intake an a tune to get it all set. without jetting and tune, you get a leaner running engine and a higher running temp.

Re: R6 header mod
Does anyone know if this mod will interfere with oil filter removal on a 89 engine ( Canister filter )?
