ok, got my carbs half apart and realized that i must have been out of it the last time I had them apart because i've got the order of the washers on the needle different on different carbs. Is the order supposed to be:
metal flat -> e-clip -> larger plastic -> metal flat
or
e-clip -> metal flat -> larger plastic -> metal flat
??
carb needle washer order

In order from top of needle:
Small washer
E-clip

Re: carb needle washer order
my metal washers are the same size, but sounds like i got it right. i'll let you know how it's running with the new tubes, so far so good; the throttle response is better than it was with my needles set on the very leanest setting. no more bogging down off the line.
Re: carb needle washer order
oh wait i'm kind of backwards, i'm too tired to think about this shit.

Re: carb needle washer order
My bike ran fine yesterday with the order not quite right, so order obviously isn't critically important.

No, you shouldn't have an issue. But, I'm sure down deep it's going to bother you knowing that at any time the bike could blow up instantly from your one little mistake...

It will, I'll probably end up tearing everything apart again to fix it.ragedigital wrote:No, you shouldn't have an issue. But, I'm sure down deep it's going to bother you knowing that at any time the bike could blow up instantly from your one little mistake...

Re: carb needle washer order
It should have no effect at all. But, if you're like me, it will burn a hole right through you knowing it's not in the right order.
Yes. I have a problem.
