new to fzr running rough at idle up to 4000rpm

Post by fzr6ady »

hi, brit guy here new to fzr ownership, had a kwak zx9r before, ive done the valve clearances, cleaned carbs twice, changed the plugs, the plugs are a bit sootier than id like, ive balanced the carbs, and set the mixture screws at 2 turns out, the bike doesnt tick over as smooth as id like and flutuates by 100rpm, and slow speed seems a bit jerky, am i expecting too much of the fzr? it has a standard can, and standard filter in airbox, i see the emulsion tubes are prone to wear, i tend to think these are the culprit, is there a supplier for factory pro ones in england, or should i get in touch with mister yamaha dealer? thanks in advance for your help, adrian.
