help please if anyone can.......
i have just put new fork oil seals in less than 1000 miles back and they have gone again. it would appear that they have slight pitting with is causing the problem. is it worth while getting these re-chromed if so any recommendations, i'm located north east england. failing this i need a good 2nd hand pair or upper stensions if anyone can help.
does anyone know if thundercat forks are the same???

to save the forks ie not binning them I would recommend having them polished down & re-hard chromed check MCN or any good restoration magazine at the news agent look in the ads rear section.
I had a set of RD forks done by a place in Bedfordshire 15 or so years ago.but darned if I can recollect the name

The people self well done but the better link is:-
http://www.pittedforks.co.uk/
which is their M/cycle specialist arm of the company did a terrific job on my forks for "metallica " & what was "Green Bean" old set up.

thanks for your quick responce with this. have you any idea how much you can expect ti pay to get the reconditioned. i have seen a 2nd hand set at a breakers on flee bay for 100 quid but am reluctant to buy incase thay are no better than mine.
do you normally have ti use a different size seal after these have been re chromed?
cheers

about 150 and they are the same size as new so seals are standard not specials . They do pick up from yer house or Work BUT you have to package them and give them details as to what make of bike ,model, year so they know what to grind them to.
I cannot remember if the pick up was extra as a mate worked very close by and he did all the dealing took a week If i remember correctly door to door.
Suggest you give em a ring ASAP the contact number is in the link I gave OK.

they quoted that for my mates USD forks way back when that had a gouge I know there is a price diff between USD and the FZR conventional fork legs . Any way he is a big boy he can find out soon enough by email or phone on Monday :-}mawler wrote:There's also a price link £250.
