Holy SH!T hydrolock?

Post by Model192 »

Went to start bike, it ran fine before...next thing I know after I turn it over about 3 times after not having touched it for a week or so gas just sprays out of it. Now it won't start, guessing it blew right through the oil pan gasket.

First decent offer picks this bike up and takes it home right now. 17322 zip code

Fresh valve lap + valve job, fresh head gasket, carbs cleaned, new plugs, new VR, coils, new petcock seals, new chain. arg.

This is the video of how it was running...I had just taken this then turned it off and came inside like a week ago banghead

It's also going on craigslist so pick it up quick.

M123,
Not the first time ask ModKing it in "TALES FROM THE SHED" part of our WIKI

Yup you will get it gone but is the next bike gonna be any better. I sold Yamaha's work great for us but the new owner .........
3 months to find that he was so heavy that a fracture in the seat pan shut off the air to the engine.

A bike stuck in 6 gear twice 2nd time welded the shift dog to the drum. he had size 13 boots so he hung on the gear lever when riding.

bent forks right out the crate looked fine visually but caused stiction, took the out one fork 2 degees one way the other the same but in reverse but you could hands off and it tracked straight.Weird or what

So I cracked open the oil plug and probably got a gallon or gallon and a half out of it. Pump/carbs went on the fritz.

Too bad your back east; I'd maybe take it off your hands.

It could easily be a stuck float needle. After rebuilding my carbs, I had one carb that was a little sticky, and it was because the little wire bracket on the needle valve that held it to the tang on the float, would twist a little and bind. I pulled it out and rebent it, but it still happens every once in a while. A stuck float can cause the cylinder to fill up with gas, and it will seep past the rings. Give your carbs a quick once over, change your oil, and see how it does.

That, and turn off your petcock - that's what it's there to prevent!

No, I'm not parting it out. I'd fix it myself but College > FZR.
