In March I decided to buy a Sport Bike for a change from my Harley. A bud who bought my Shadow off of me liked the idea and wanted 1 to since he just got an insurance settlement. I was eyeing up this FZR but he kinda fell for it so I let him grab it & I grabbed a Ninja ZX6e from the same guy. They arrived and another bud begged me to sell him my Ninja since it arrived. So I sold it to him & I found a nicer ZX-6R from a bud who got it in trade in at his car lot for a deal.
So finally we get riding weather and all 3 of us started riding the rockets and my bud who bought this FZR decided to sell is Shadow & he felt a little cramped (6'5") on the FZR and fell in love with my ZX-6R and offered me $2K plus the FZR for the Ninja. All cool with me since this was the bike I was looking at in the 1st place & that was his only bike.
The Ninja ZX-6R seems to be a tighter,faster bike,torque & top end but I have to adjust the cables. My bud was playing with the adjustments thinking something was wrong with it because it felt different than his shadow and has the adjustment whacked but the bike is in excellent condition with 8,000 miles on it. Looks like it sat in a garage for it's life and runs like new
A lot of play in the throttle and the clutch is wound tight
I was reading some of the 520 chain swap & Wiki stuff,probably going to do the 520 chain & sprocket swap and 150 tire swap,any other quick performance things that can be done? Runs great & has a Jardine pipe. Not looking to sink a ton of money into it,just giver a little more at the bottom end like the Ninja.
