BIG PROBLEM HELPPPPPP
Ok let me start my story, working on my buddys bike changed the rear shock to a busa shock. the bike sat way to high so i realized i have a longer set of linkages, decided ill try those so in order to remove the old ones off the rear swing arm i needed to remove the shifting linkage so i marked the shifter in the case ware it was and proceeded to remove it. so i replaced the rear suspension linkages put every thing back together bike now sits right where i wanted it to. thinking to myself great this was ez. so i put the bike in neutral and went to start it and nothin so i make sure its in neutral again and nothing again.. so i sit on the bike put the stand up and she turns over so thinking to my self what did the switch go bad, so she starts and i hear a knocking sound o great thinking it through a rod i shut it off. that cant be right it ran great the other day. so i started it again and held the clutch in this time started it and i hear the knocking sound so i put it gear and its gone so i put it back in neutral and what a ass that was to find again but any how the knocking is back and them all of a sudden it kick in to gear all by its self. o great what happened my marks are right on. but it looked like the marks were more side ways than up and down when i marked it.. so can the shifter coming out the trany turn by its self and change were it was and how in the hell do i get it back to right please hellp sorry for the long story just wanted to set the mood

Re: BIG PROBLEM HELPPPPPP
that sounda weird id myself check the roller on the shifter star if it broke off then its just floating around between 1st and 2nd somewhare in neutral and the dogs are hitting the gears. or the spring that locks it in might be messed then the shift tube can rotate on its own with out the roller to hold it in place its a long shot but unless the shifteris bound up then its obviously going in gear it self which means the shift drum moved. does the shifter move easily or do you feel the cliks of each gear try moving the shifter around to engage the neutral switch also the position of the shifter clamp dosent affect the shifting only the leaver height/placement
