With time and money, anything is possible. I can't imagine it will be very easy though.

There was a guy who an had R1 motor in a 400 frame and the torque from the motor twisted the frame. The 400 is aluminum and a bui stronger than the 600 so imagine what that would do being to the 600 which is steel and weaker. Like Mega said, with time and money you can do it but it will not be easy. I mentioned the higher rate of torque (it's at least twice the force an actual 600 will put on it) it's also physically larger so there would be extensive frame mods that would need to be done-and that's not taking in to account what has to be done to get the swingarm to fit in the frame. I'm all for modernizing and customizing but this is A LOT. Not sure if it's worth it. You want efi? It's a lot of work to swap a carbed FZR (or YZF for that matter) motor to EFI but the sheer magnitude of a full R1 install out weighs that 10 fold. Like I said, if you wanna do it then go for it or do the kart instead and share lots of pics with us along the way..because we like pics.

you end up cutting like 1/2 your frame out do to this. you wont have any lower engine rails either. a guy did this with a 600 frame also with a 02 motor...it was to much for the bike. sell the motor, buy a better bike if you need that much power.

Sounds awesome and a little insane at the same time...

I couldn't imagine what an R1 would do in a cart. Hyperspeed!

Buy an R1 frame and start putting it together. Once you have the frame and motor, everything else is cheep by compairison.

Agreed Just buy a frame and start from there. If you got a good deal on the motor, wait for a good deal on a frame. You may be able to get a naked R1 for 2 grand. Then sell it off and buy something you really want. Or keep it and ride the crap out of it. Personally I'd build it, sell it, buy a 600 and customize the crap out of it. my2cents

From what I've seen on E-bay and WERA 13x forums, you could score some R1 parts pretty easy, frame etc. Might take a while but would be a fun project, and when you're done you'd have a brand new R1. Who can argue with that ?

Great idea.
