OK, so I started working on the Factory Pro stage 3 jet kit I bought. It is actually not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Tunning will probably do me in though. The kit is fairly strait forward. Comes with the needles, clips, jets and some bolts. But the instructions are a little lacking in my opinion. So here is the question.
The starter jet the kit came with is simple enough to figure out. But it also came with 115, 117.5, and 120 jets. The paperwork says the 115 and 117.5 are the options for the main jet but doesn't mention the pilot jet. So is the 120 the pilot jet or am I missing something?
I also had a starter jet break off inside the jet block Looks like I need to find an extra set of carbs to canabalize now.
Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.

So what the hell do I do about the pilot jet? Use the original?

What I pulled out of mine, the starter jet is different. The main and pilot jets are nearly identical. The only difference is the size of the hole and the tapper at the end of the thread.

hmm.. the main jet and pilot jet shouldn't look atlike at all. The main jets are fat and stubby, and the pilot jet is skinny and long. The pilot jet that came in my Factory Pro stage3 kit had bunch of holes drilled into the sides(stock pilot jet didn't have any). On my 38K mile motor I was running the 117.5 main jet with the stock pilot jet, but then when I swapped in my 3k mile motor I had to bump up to the 120 main with the FP pilot jet.

Just got off the phone with Factory Pro. Got everything straitened out. The factory service manual calls out the main jet, pilot jet, and a plug. The clymer manual calls out the main jet then calls the pilot jet the starter jet and the plug the pilot jet. I would have llistened to the factory, but the pictures suck.

Well I f'en knew something was going to happen. Ok so I started working on installing the jet kit. Going pretty good except for the pilot jet that is broken off in the jet block and me swapping out the starter jet on the first two carbs. Then I get three stripped screws on the other side. Great. So I bought another set of carbs from ebay to canabalize and start working on the screws. Well after a lot of carb cleaner being sprayed on the screws and some fancy work with a dremel to trun a philips head into a strait blade, I was able to get one of the screws out. The other set of sarbs showed up Thursday. Now today I break into them to get the part I needed and start working on the other two screws as well. Finally get them to give way. I go ahead and finish installing the kit and replace the jets I shouldn't have touched. What happens next? Literaly the last item I'm doing is placing the last neddle jet into the diaphram and guess what I did. I pushed too damn hard on the thing and bend the f'en needle when I'm seating the diaphram. All that crap just to f up now. I wish it wasn't so damn late as I start drinking heavily. Guess I'm calling Factory Pro on Monday to see about getting a replacement needle.
