So I'm in the middle of the coil conversion right now, I called a friend of mine because I knew she had the old stock coil pack off of her escort, so, she gave it to me...again, more free stuff to put on my bike! I got her old wires too, and I bought some stuff from napa to cut the wires and make custom spark plug wires to the length I need them.
Anyway, how often do the stock FZR coil packs go out? I pulled the ones I got off of the parts bike and put them on mine only to find out they were bad too. Are the coils defective? Mine lasted 40k miles, and these on the parts bike lasted 30k. That's a bit low for coil packs, from what I've seen while working on cars, they very rarely go out.
