Need some help

Post by STP FZR »

Hi all, I'm having problems with my 92 FZR600, It's blowing fuses for the instrument cluster about every minute. I re did some of the wiring because some of it was pretty shotty. Anyone have any ideas on what could be the problem? Thanks in advance!

checked that and the only wire thats cut is a blue one that I believe goes to the turn signals but everything else seems to be fine, any other ideas?

sometimes coroded connectors will cause a fuse to blow i had a running light in my rodeo that was coroded and it kept blowing the fuse i had to unplug all the lights and plug them in one at a time to find it

If i recall that's the headlight wire and it'll blow fuses quick if it is cut or loose.

it just started happening yesterday and I've had the bike for about a week now and never had that happen.

I just went out and checked it, the fuse blows when I hit the brake, don't know if that stirs up anything

I checked all of the rear wires, is it possible i pinched a wire for the brake light when I synced the carbs and had it apart?

any things possible i would look for wires in pinch points. is it just with the brake light its blowing. if you have a multimeter you could check the polarity of the wiring. does it blow the fuse with both brakes. also check the bulb sockets mine rusted abit. also check the connection of the bulb pig tail. if its with the brake light i would say somethings shorting somewhere

ok so I disconnected the brake light wires and see if that was the problem, it was. So i plugged them back in, but now the brake light dims instead of get brighter when i pull the brake, what gives? the good thing is that I'm not blowing fuses anymore.

did that, they're clean and all wires are connected, no bare spots on any of them

I've been looking at that, but it only happens when I pull the front brake, when I use the rear brake the brake light doesn't come on at all
