Oil Filter Converter/Adapter

Post by aar0n »

Do they/have they/can I make a adapter so I can buy the same filters for every other year fzr besides 89? I want to use a spin on filter. There has to be some way to make the 89 use one. Please any help is appreciated. Paper filters FTL.

Yamaha converted the FZR600 to a screw on oil filter in the mid 90's. There are 2 main parts you need to do the conversion. First is the adapter plate (3TJ-13461-00-00), second is the union bolt (90401-20145-00). There is also an o-ring that is needed (93210-87723-00). The parts are listed under as "oil cooler" in the parts fiche even though there is no real oil cooler.
Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.
