Post by tampaFZR600 »

I think I'm going with 110 mains.... here is my setup

-K&N drop in
-Yoshi slip on

How many shims am i going to need for the needles?

Also, what if i eventually went with a R6 header?? Would i need a larger size main?

It doesn't exactly work that way... but, nice try.

You need to buy an aftermarket jet kit from either Factory Pro or DynoJet. And chances are, they will not be perfect the first time out with the specified settings - you have to play with it.

I took my carbs out several times... a day... for many days in a row... for many weeks... until I sold it... lol

The great thing about carbs is that you can get additional power relatively cheap. For my GSXR, I have to buy an electronic module for $300, then have someone program it @ $70 a half an hour. I was told to expect it to take a couple hours - ouch!

went with Dyno Jet on mine and a set of K&N pods and I would agree. The process is a serious pain in the arse. The needles (adjustable) and a set of washers for half adjustments were crucial in my case. Be prepared for a lot of carb pullin, plug checking and test rides through the tach range. In the end it's worth it though. Good luck!
