The R6 VR is not bullet proof either. It is of an inheriently better design to disapate heat. My buddy roasted his R6 VR on his R6 while we were at Deals Gap last month. Still worth the $$$ and effort to convert in my book.

You guys just need to do what I did. I've actually been thinking about making a few and selling them. Pictures are better at explaining.

I can't find the pictures of it in parts but the lower plate is recessed to have the VR drop in a little and then the heat sink is on top. Used some nice computer chip thermal grease and haven't had any issues with my electrical ever. It's still the 92 stock VR.

I found them! I did clean up the sink a little after that pic. I didn't have a file that would fit so I had to go buy one.

yeah maybe i'll extend the wires and mount that baby outside the frame . It's the same story for my ignition control module and the coil on my Z28 . They are mounted on the front of the left side cylinder head . Maybe the engineers were paid to do these type of things in order for us to get replacement parts down the road . Make the money go around . Or Not .....................

Those are great ideas! I need to order one. You say that is a stock one and with no problems once mounted like that? Thats awesome.
