FZR1000 tank

Post by Fartblood »

Does a tank from an EXUP1000 physically fit on the FZR600s frame rails? I apprecite I'd have a job of work in figuring out how to mount it, but just need to know if the size is roughly compatible before taking the plunge.

Cheers!

Cheers Fizzinator. I've a chance of a tank, seat and tail from an EXUP1000 RU, all newly pro painted in BMW blue. If I can make it fit (which I reckon I can, though I'll need to bin the airbox, re-plumb the fuel pump etc), then it's a cheap way to get essentially brand new bodywork. I'll get the existing front mudguard repainted to match, and I'm watching several GSXR shocks on egay.

Not sure the tank will fit FB. I had the tank off of my EXUP today (because I'm still in carb tuning hell)and it's quite big and from remembering my old 600 it seems like it may be TOO BIG for the frame. The seat and tail would probably work against you (unless maybe if it's a solo race tail). If it were me I'd go for a tank from a Thunderace 1000 or YZF750 tanks as both are smaller than the EXUP 1000. It would be interesting to see if you can get the exup tank to fit though. Good luck...post pics..
