Well, I ordered a new starter relay...looks to be nos or from a very well taken care of bike....it included the black wire to the starter so I took the old one off as well. Sweating and grunting for an hour....get it back together push the button and that stupid oil light just flicks on and no start! Again, I can jump the solenoid with a screwdriver and it starts right upo....WTF? :mad( Its possible that the new solenoid is bad too but it seriously looks brand new. Any other suggestions good fzr people?

Pull the battery and replace it. Next year, you can keep it in my garage!

But my battery shows almost 14 volts when fully charged...it should around there and not 12 right? In the winter when the battery was nearly dead it would atleast crank the starter for a minute until the battery was fully dead. IDK

I have the exact same problem. Except it was more like my bike was starting perfectly fine, then 15 minutes later the start button would do absolutely nothing. I arced my starter and got it to turn over a bit but very slowly. My battery is probably shot but does this mean my starter solenoid is also bad? Sorry for butting in

I don't know why these SOB's don't come with kick-starters.
