clutch issues

Post by thelastfzr »

so i bought this used bike from someone who knows nothing about it but the price was to good to pass up they said the owner thought it needed clutch springs but i dunno after opening up all looks well i adjusted clutch it was way out of adjustment at lever and at the engine. now i pull lever, i feel tension and hear a faint click. so i then put bike in first (engine off) and try to roll bike, like it should bike does not roll. i then pull in clutch lever and bike DOES NOT roll. any other options of what it could be?

when i pull in lever, what on the right side of bike should move? do i need to look in small cover on right hand side or large cover where the baskets and plates are?

thanks again in advance

I would start by removing the small cover where the cable attatches to and checking the linkages move ok when you operate the lever, also check the rod that pushes on the basket isn't warn, if all that looks ok then you need to look at the plates and springs in the basket i would say.
