I can buy this cheap, guy said it is off a yfz 600. I thought that they did not come with an external reservoir. What do you guys think

Yeah its early yzf shock. I dont remember anyone ever using one on an fzr though.

Get you the R6 shock if your looking for improvement. Go to WIKI I believe a how to.

As a matter of theory could you use this if you had a shorter spring on it to reduce the length.

Before RR jumps on me I do not mean cut the spring and make it way too stiff, but get a spring
a} from another bike
b} have a short spring made to a custom rate that would work
