the r6 coils won't work unless the coil has 3 prongs, one for power, one for signal and one for ground, but the r6 coils only have two prongs, one is ground, the other is signal. i've been thinking about it all day. and my relay idea won't work unless the relay is capable of opening and closing extremely fast. the only way to do it would be to get a separate CDI and wire it directly from the pickup coil. it might be possible to get the r6 ecu, and wire it in for use on the FZR, just not connect the injectors and all of the other sensors, not sure if that would work though, oh well..
bucket,
I'm not using a stock ecu. I'm a tuner on the side, well, i was..i have an autronic sm4 and an AEM C2DI as my CDI. I'm going to put a turbo in that pushes the engine to the max almost. I'm trying to fine a GT3071R or GT3076R, i saw one a few months ago on craigslist Socal, $400 and it needed a rebuild, i just didn't have the cash to get it. I would have loved to get that thing for $400 and then rebuild it.
My old engine was a stock 5sfe, non-turbo..slow..underpowered..this is the NEW celica
I have at least 8 grand in parts in the engine..this is the stuff that I can think off right now..
Autronic SM4, made my own harness, 640volt AEM C2DI
TRD clutch kit, fidanza flywheel, stock 5sfe trans for as long as it holds..haha
knife-edged crank, with crank scrapers under the main caps
JN pistons, eagle rods
sard 850cc injectors, wolfkatz custom fuelrail, walbro 255lph fuel pump.
R6 c.o.p.'s NKG iridium plugs IK24
5sfe pulley and brackets from my old engine
head has 10k miles(got it from Joel at toysport), block has 40k, when i took the block apart there were still numbers on the crank where it sits on the main bearings (the guy at the machine shop said he had never seen that either, they usually wear off by the time an engine needs machine work
I sold Joel at toysport the transmission from the 3s. It would have been a mean tranny, but i'm getting an AWD one when my stock one breaks..considering i have the money to even get it going again.
HKS cams, 272 degrees and 10.2/10.5 mm lifts, AEM true time cam sprockets, stock timing belt
Me and Joel tested the stock springs, compared to the stock turbo ones, and dual coil ferrea springs..stock ones had the best tension.
My valves are 1mm overbore ferrea.
I still have the stock turbo mani, blitz downpipe, really fat intercooler by turboxs (its from a nissan s14/s15). me and my friend custom made a bracket and replaced the bumper reinforcement with it, the intercooler sits inside of it..
