What do you guys think?!

Post by fizzerboy »

Do you think this will work for the vr swap? Its off of a yamaha and its got the same color wires with the 1 positive, 1 ground and 3 white wires.....whats your opinions? i cant post a pic right now but i will later. It looks exactly like the vr that everyone is doing the swap with except where the pins are on the vr the 5 wires are already ran into it and they run out about 8 inches into a connector. Its off of a 99 yamaha 2wd bear tracker 250 atv. If so i think this might be a cheaper possibility than the new r6 one. Just wanting some feedback before i tried to use it. Thanx guys.

Sounds like it will work. I say get a fire extinguisher on hand and plug her in.

I think all the YZF R6 years look like this...but I think Fizzerboy found one that will just plug right in...the R6 VRs you have to mod the connections.

they all work off the same principle..convert AC voltage to DC voltage. as long as it's wired right i don't see why it shouldn't. I almost used an 02 R1 regulator on mine while I was trying to find a yzf600 one, it probably would have worked, but it was too wide, i mean, the thing was twice the size of the regular YZF600 one. but I thought you already had one of the good VR's.

There is plenty of how to's on this swap, if you cock it up you were asleep /drunk /high it is simply too easy for you to get it wrong.

I'm thinking that every VR made in the last 10 years has come out of the same assembly line. My CBR, the GF's spirit, Kawi 650Rs, some Harleys I've seen, they all look identical.
