While they may not be the most advanced idea to come out of Yamaha, inc. They do provide cool air for the intake. If you block them, then you'll only be importing hot air off the engine.

I took off my tubes and left the holes open.

i left them on, all the squids think they're cool, and to me they look better than holes, plus i'm too lazy to take them off.

Rage, what's with your siggy? I thought you got a GSXR and sold your yellow FZR?

I wanted to post the final photo before I sold her. I actually don't have a final photo with the right rim on the back, but this is close enough. She was looking really nice. The guy that bought it was going to have it repainted. Took me forever just to get it to that point. BTW, I used a laser level to so the diagonal strip on the sides. At the bottom right, I had to curve the tape. Looks straight from here, but it is curved to match the profile of that vent.

I do miss the bike. It certainly was a pain sometimes, but no more of a pain than this GSXR is.

The "frame coolers" on the GSXR are a little more discrete and slightly more functional. :grinnod:

mostly they provide cool air the frame to keep it from getting really hot and heatsoaking the whole area :deal:
