Air Filter Experiences/ OEM vs Pods

Post by wes702 »

Part of my rebuild is deciding which way to go as bike came with No air cleaner.
Will be used only on street. Your collective thoughts/experiences?
I've read pods create mixture issues?

For street use, go with the stock airbox. They aren't particularly expensive or hard to find. Tuning pods through the rev range IS possible, but they are quite finicky. It is most certainly NOT a matter of just slapping on the pods and off you go ...

Dual pods are a little easier to tune than singles, but it's not worth the effort unless you're planning on racing it.
