No cranking

Hi guys 1st time posting.
I have bought a fzr600r m reg of a friend as a non runner. Will not crank using start button, but oil light comes on when start button pressed so guessing switch is working. I can get it to crank over when I earth out the blue and white wire on start solenoid. Thinking maybe main rely. Any help appreciated.
