Restoring a 92 fzr Vance and hines

Post by Lgarretto »

Hey guys. So I bought an fzr600 Vance and Hines edition. Number 251. It runs perfectly and only has 15k miles. But it's been laid over. Both the lower fairings are missing and the front fairing is shot. So I need to source some parts. Hopefully for cheap. But I couldn't help but buy it since the guy only wanted 1200 bucks for it
So all told I'll need a front fairing, both lower fairings, the right hand mirror, the front blinkers, and somehow get the decals and the pink and yellow paint if possible
So does anyone have a suggestion on where to start?
I really appreciate it

Well. You can look on eBay and pay hundreds and hundreds for one lower fsiring, or get them aftermarket. I bought air tech fairings. Quality wasn't perfect, but it's a fiberglass fairing.

Aftermarket fiberglass is the way to go. I went with Sharkskinz. May be the most expensive fiberglass but it is worth it. You may be able to find stock fairings on ebay, but not in the color you want and probably in rough shape = a lot of prep to get looking right. Do a search to get the color codes for the paint you will need, or bring your tank to a paint supply place and they will match it if they don't already know the codes.
