having issues.

Post by dans92fzr600r »

I rode my bike about 5 miles, to my dads house. After I left there I was having some issues with leaving in first gear. The bike wants to bog down and die after I take off. But when I start it, I give it a little gas and it runs and revs fine. It comes to idle and stays. But as soon as I try to take off again, I have the same problem. It takes off fine and will idle away, but then bogs and dies before I can get to 2nd gear.

On a side note, it also gota little warm and coolant started spewing from the nozzle beneath the coolant cap.

what could this be? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!

Parking brake on? :whistle

Seriously, "a little warm" does not involve "coolant started spewing". How high are you revving the bike to pull away? What revs are you turning when you decide to upshift?

I never really hit 2nd hear. So upshifting was out of the question.
As for the coolant, I rev the bike to around 6 grand at a stand still, it sounds clean. Annd I dont rev it over 2500-3000when taking off. And was still only doing that part due to my issue. Normally I just let the clutch engage almost all of the way before I even touch my throttle.

Also. When coolant came out of the overflow spout, the tdmp gauge was only at a little under halfway.which to me seems like the normal operating temp. So I dont understand why it did so, but it did.
