Quick Shifter
Clutchless upshifting is a basic technique to good lap times, but even the quick snap-shut of the throttle means that the flow of air through the engine is interrupted and must be re-established before full power is restored. By killing the spark for a fraction of a second (adjustable between 5-115 msec cut time) while holding the throttle wide open, the airflow is maintained at much higher levels while still relieving the load on the transmission, allowing it to shift into the next gear. Lap time savings are often on the order of 0.1-0.3 seconds per shift - multiply that by 20-30 shifts per lap, and it quickly becomes obvious why the vast majority of serious racers use some sort of quick-shift system.
I have not been able to source an in-line shift sensor. I am reluctant to market a glue-on Hall device, if for no other reason than they are very difficult to adjust once the glue has set! There are many cheap and suitable push-buttons on the marker; I can provide one as part of the package, or provide a plug-in to allow the starter button to be used (yes, the starter button - it's in gear with the clutch out, so the cut-out relay won't energize the solenoid).


Rev Limiter
One of the choices when building a 400/600 is the selection of which ignitor to use - the 400 box allows a higher redline, but the 600 mill starts coming apart before the 400 TCI cuts the spark. I am in the process of releasing a limiter based on the proven LM2907 that will interrupt the safety circuit when a set rpm is reached. Cut rpm is set by a potentiometer on the circuit board, adjustable between 16200 and 8600 rpm. Other ranges can be set to accommodate customer requirements.
The limiter can be configured to operate automatically or when triggered by a push button. This allows this unit to be used as a launch limiter (push the button and hold the throttle wide open - the revs won't go past a certain point, allowing the rider to concentrate on clutch control) or a pit lane limiter (push the button and be able to watch out for other people's pit crews without risking a speeding penalty).

The Quick Shifter and Rev Limiter both plug into the harness at the TCI box. They can be stacked, or a combined unit is available.
