UK - Valve Shim Swap Scheme (Update)

Post by Clanky »

Just wanted to remind everyone of the Valve Shim Swap Scheme set up by Yamaha George and to let you all know that I will taking over the running of it from now. Please, if you have any requests PM me and I will respond asap.

The aim of the scheme is to provide the UK members with a cheaper source of shims by recycling those that we don't need.

You can purchase second hand shims from the scheme at half the retail price if you trade in your old shims on a one for one basis (Wemoto currently lists them at £3.58 so call it £1.60). The current stock is limited, but growing, so it is worth asking before paying trying the main retailers.

If anyone has any unused shims lurking in the bottom of their 'bits boxes' that they would be prepared to donate to the scheme it would be a great help (let's face it that next 18000 mile valve check is a long way off for most of us). The more shims we have in the pot the more chance there is of fulfilling members requests. I can keep a record of those who do donate so that if you wish to make a purchase from the scheme sometime in the future you could still claim a discount.

Best regards

Nigel

Nigel,
Thank you for taking this over for me I did not want to burden Camala with further biking bits as she has enough on her plate with running the house and nursing me and arguing over me selling my 13 or so motor bikes.

She told me that you had been in contact earlier whilst I slept unfortunately the pain has crept thro and I am more or less wide awake so just touching various bases.

George,

It's my pleasure, as a relative newcomer to the forum it is nice to get actively involved and contribute in some way. I've got a lot out of the forum already in response to questions I've posted here and from trawling the archives so thank you all.

Wishing you good health.

Nigel
