FS in Cheshire '96 FZR600 GENESIS (MARLBORO)

Post by FollowTheSun »

Hi Everyone

Got a great 1996 FZR600 Genesis for sale which has had a massive overhaul, it really is a one off. In perfect running condition with MOT up to the end of August and TAX up till Sept so perfect for summer fun. Low miles for age only 27000 on the clock.

The bike was getting a bit tatty at the start of last summer with it getting on so I gave it a full overhaul at the cost of hundreds if not in to the thousands :-? as I planned on keeping it for a good while but current lack of funds forces sale.

All work was carried out within the last 500 miles due to not being able to use it through the cold winter so is in mint condition, not seen rain at all since the overhaul was carried out.

Overhaul included :-

- New cam chain / valve clearances set and carbs cleaned, along with full service of new oil, spark plugs, airfilter, oil filter and fuel filter. Work carried out at renowned local bike engineers which race bikes at the Isle of Man TT (well known).
- Swing arm removed, spot blasted and resprayed due to rust.
- Full Marlboro Yamaha motogp paint respray, including wheels, brake calipers and frame/forks
- New carbon fibre mirrors, levers and indicators fitted along with new set of grips.
- New Goodridge braided brake lines fitted front and rear. (Stops on a penny!)
- Front forks overhauled with new oil, oil seals and dust seals.
- New DID Gold X Ring chain fitted.
- Solo rear race seat which goes over rear pillion seat for easy removal.
- Micron exhaust which sounds lovely!

So as you can see from all the work this bike is in mint condition and the engine feels perfect pulls like a train with no nasty noises! I'm gutted I've got to sell it as I've done hardly any miles on it since all the work, wanted to enjoy it over the summer. I really enjoyed the ride on this bike as it delivers the power right where you want it instead of right at the top of the rev range as with many of the other sports bikes I've rode, theres broad power delivery which suits many everyday situations. Summer is just around the corner so if you want a trick race replica for it then this is the bike for you!

(Last owner did confirm to me that this was one of the last genesis models made in the world and from new was parallel imported from the USA in 1996 especially due to this. Also as it was parallel imported from new as no effect on insurance what so ever.)

Looking for £995.00 for it which I would say is more than reasonable with the amount of work its had done.

Any questions please just email me, also I'm on the Wirral which is in Chesire, England.

Thanks, Andy. :tks:
