Anybody have a head gasket lurking please also anything else gasket/seal for top end re-build on a 1wg fzr 400

I'd probably get them off ebay.
Renew the cam cover gasket new and use a gen Yam seal. Pattern can be ok but I had one that was slightly the wrong radius on one corner (each side) it leaked and it's a bitch of a job to replace with the engine in.
