Hmmmmm... they are replacing a 18 watt bulb with standard LEDs. Most car headlights are around 55 watts. It's not a good idea.
Check out this flashlight/torch (LINK). They tell you it's 20 watts, but in actually it's really a 1 or 3 watt with a reflector. They are an awesome flashlight though and I have about 5 or 6 of them around the house.
The key to using LEDs is to get and use a reflector. I should probably take photos to make my point... stay tuned.
