GH:- Electronic valve controls for engines

Post by Nik »

Hi,
as all FZR owners should be aware the inlet & exhaust valves on our bikes rely on Camshafts to make them work. All that extra work cost us horsepower & fuel bills.

Whilst big engines still work this way smaller engines have an alternative:-

How Long will it take Darrin or DonTZ to do this for us :-}

There are two kinds of posts on Forums.
1. This is what I have done...
2. This is what I think...
Be aware of the difference!

Interesting. Unfortunately, toy engines = toy solenoids. Even with the FZR valve springs replaced with much lighter units (I think Ferrari did this when their F1 team was experimenting with pneumatic valves a while back), we're still talking about a fairly strong double-acting unit that can 1) operate FAST, 2) operate under extreme conditions of heat, water spray, and vibration. We're also probably talking one per valve, so 16 or 20 of these things on top of an already crowded head...

Find me the solenoids, and I'll see what I can do about a controller! :deal: :cheers:
