Re: 4 those who want their own sprockets
Be really interesting if it wrote code for the center spline.
As is, anyone want plasma cut sprockets? I am especially thinking of our guys who swap engines and or swingarms and need to offset a sprocket. A cut sprocket with a large diameter center hole would weld up nicely to a cut down stock sprocket.
Our shop has lots and lots of AR(abrasion resistant) steel

RR,
you could always ask him :-
sprocketeer AT idleamusements DOT com .
Since he wants to take this Program further and we as a group are ideally placed for testing it out for him .....................

A comment that came in on another list:-

I did this MANY years ago (over 15) with great success. I still have it
somewhere. It was on a push bike, front sprocket, 43tooth.
As Michael said, theres a standard form factor, and to reduce the
snapping effect, or "biting" which can happen (chain not wanting to come
off the sprocket, and sticking to the gear heavily) you change the
Addendum height and taper, but the Dedendum must always remain the same
as the roller part of the chain MUST fit perfectly in that area.
Reducing the Addendum height will induce excess wear and slippage at
high torque values.

Re: 4 those who want their own sprockets
Turns out our shop has made many sprockets on our plasma equipment....huge low speed units with low demand for perfect concentricity.
I checked into pricing on a spline broach. Without knowing the dimensions exactly, I do not know whether the toolist would require a large sum to draw up/tool up the broach. But, even still stocked spline broaches are expensive enough to demand a sizable demand in finished product.
Prolly a bunch cheaper to have sprocket specialists(the company) make what is needed.

This is a simple way to draw sprockets.
