seat for FZR400

Post by FZRRDRZ »

Does anyone know if the 86-87 FZ600 passenger seat will fit my 1WG? I'm looking at one on Ebay and the brackets look identical to the cover/ cowl on there now but I can't tell if there in the right place.
Much appreciated.

Thanks. I think at a minimum the hardware is identical.

They are very close but a bit different. The FZR 400 seat has the rear hook mounted about 3mm farther back than the FZ600 and catches on the FZ600 tail light fairing when you try installing it on an FZ600. The upholstery is a bit different as well. You should be able to get it to work with a little bit of tweaking the rear hook, but you are better off getting a 400 seat.

I’d definitely be better off just getting the 400 seat but I can’t seem to find any here… those FZ600 seats are everywhere and I’ve seen a few sell for about 10 bucks.
Thanks for your help/ I think I’ll get the FZ one and see what I can do.
