chain/sprocket and 520 conversion

I'd like to do a 520 chain conversion on my 89 FZR400 (428 chain is stock, and highest rated aftermarket I can find is only 30hp? Doesn't seem right, it'll stretch out in no time). Has anyone done this? Who makes 520 or 525 sprockets to fit the FZR400 countershaft and rear rim? I'd like to stick to steel sprockets.

DID & EBK both make good 428 chains.

depending on where you are, b and c express do kits for the fzr's. not sure if they post to US though.

520 should fit no issues. As Nik says shoot thatkid a PM. He's a Supersprox dealer and can probably get you a good deal on what you need.

I did a 520 conversion, went with the RK quick acceleration kit. I didn't like the gearing, as I like to ride longish trips (180 miles one way). Also, there are not really any steel options for the 520 conversion, as I found out. Next time I will either go with a supersprox rear sprocket or switch everything back over to 530, for longevity.

You're not looking very hard. DID makes a great 428 o-ring chain for the 400. That along with new JT sprockets was under $120 from my dealer. Why would you want to put heavier parts on an FZR400?
