Hello all FZR enthusiasts!

A very good friend of mine is willing to give me a crashed FZR 400 for free.
Problem is the front fork is bent beyond repair
So i searched eBay and FZR forums and websites across the globe for information on what i should buy.

I got totally lost! There seem to be very many generations of FZR's so any help would be appreciated.

What i know is that it is an FZR 400 1989 model with the exup\genesis stickers and dual circular headlamp.

I *think* i only need the inside tubes so i found a few good ads on this item for many different kinds of FZR's, but which is mine?
And which would fit???

which country are you in? different countries had different fzr400s in 89. If you can get a pic i can tell you which model it is.

And depending on the country I have a nice set of 400 forks I'm looking to sell.

Using this webpage as a reference i must have either the 3En1 or the 3En2.
i cant tell which though because the front fairing is kinda screwed up from the crash and no turn signals exist on it. :/
the earlier ones have no exup or back seat and the later ones have a different fairing.
i would love to tell you the frame number if someone could point me as to where it is located!
As for the front forks for sale, i am really excited i can find spare parts all these years later!
I live in Greece so just let me know if i can use yours and what the price is. I can pay through bank transactions.

EDIT: if it helps it's colored Grey.

do you have air pipe holes in the front fairing? above lights = 3en1, below = 3en2. Each had different diameter front forks! The frame number should be stamped into the frame at the headstock probably on the right of the bike up near whee the front fairing stay mounts to the frame.

Due to the fact my English is not the best around i am wondering what the "headstock" might be :/

EDIT: I managed to get in contact with my friend who's gonna give me the bike, he is quite confident it is the 3En1. I am going to check for the frame number and air intake holes either way so i'll have a definite answer later tonight, thanx for all your help ^^

The headstock is the pipe where the steering bearings are mounted; the bike's nameplate should be on the right side of the frame in that area.

Follow the frame up from the right side to the front until you can't go any further, it's basically the pointy end of the frame!

p.s. your English spelling is better than some English people I know!

I had time to check today and the serial number is 1WG - 045595 and the air pipes are on top of the head lights.
Which most definitely means it is the 3En1 (which is a good thing i suppose )

So what remains is which fork suits my occasion and who has a set available for sale.

Also once i start the repairs i'll probably have more problems on the way so i'll be posting them on a different thread
I hope i can have as much fun as possible on this one!

they are 38mm forks i believe, anyway I have a set with progressive springs from my race bike but i did a very rough calculation and it would be around 60euros postage from me minimum!

if you have the weight and the size when packed you can put it in Parcels2go.com who can usually get you Fedex / DHL deals (talking real money saving off direct fedex or Royal mail / parcel Farce etc ) I used them to ship wheels and such to Europe & Oz.

the web page will tell you about 5 different costs on who you pick to ship with and most will collect from you!

yep i did that very roughly and got the fedex price as the cheapest, obviously need to do it more accurately but wanted to give him an idea!

Cool, once you checked them is all good since they have been consistently cheaper over the last year and the great bit is the collection from where ever you are, no schlepping around with big boxes standing in Post offices being jostled by the great unwashed LoL

Taggy, just name your price and i'll do my math.
I'd hate to pay 60 euro for transportation but if it's the only way then there is nothing i can do about it :/

All that matters to me right now is making a decent street bike with as less as possible price-wise.
