No, I don't think they clear well i'm not sure if you can make them fit at all. I think thundercat downpipes fit or modified R6 ones.

Some after-market 400 pipes will fit YZF600 motors and will clear the oil pan, so long as an FZR oil pan was swapped in. Granted the YZF motor has a shorter stroke than FZR, but I believe the deck height is the same due to the longer rods on the YZF. I have no experience fitting FZR400 pipes to FZR600 motors, but given they could work on a YZF600 motor, I would not be surprised if you could massage one onto an FZR600 motor.

No doubt, someone has actually tried this, and hopefully they will chime in.
FZR400 (1WG): Purchased a perfectly good FZR400 with Yoshimura slip-on/EXUP, Yosh jet kit, Factory ignition advance, Racetech springs and emulators. It even had great bodywork. Like some diseased maniac I had to mess with everything good about that bike. Well, at least I have better brakes now.

FZR400RR (3TJ):Yeah, it's pink.

im curious as to why one would try this? isnt the 400 exhaust system small diameter? wouldnt it be restrictive?

I'm guessing that someone may want to re-use their 400 pipe when swapping in a 600 motor to avoid sourcing another exhaust. As long as the 400 exhaust clears the oil pan, it would be easier to fit under the fairings. I can't speak on the OEM 600 pipe, but had an Ontario 400 pipe with equal diameter tubing to my Yosh 600 pipe.

Well im going to swap a frz 600 motor into my 400 frame, and from what i have seen the stock 600 pipes stick out alot, very close to front tire. I was thinking if the 400 pipes would fit i know they dont go foward so much as the 600s, that was my reasoning, cause not sure what fairing im going to use on this bike yet.

i think the collector/exup hits the underside of the sump and stops them fitting properly at the headers, i know the 600's are way to long for the 400 as a mate had these on his, so would guess they wont fit!

I have a 90 1WG FZR400 with Vance and Hines Supersport exhaust. I just picked up a FZR600 and currently going through the transplant process. I did with no problem, connect the FZR400's Vance and Hines pipes to the FZR600 (93). Therefore the Vance and Hines FZR400 and FZR600 (American models) are interchangeable.
