What Duane said. In fact, I think the 3EN2 rotors are the same same size as the 3HE 600 rotors and would therefore be too large for the '90 1WG forks. I'm not 100% sure but it seems to ring a bell.

I could be wrong (like that's never happened before) but I was under the impression that 1wg and 3he600 forks, or the front end for that matter, were the same. If that were the case then 600 rotors should be fine to use.

This is what the seller said to me..............Dear califmike2003,

Wow Target! You sure know your hotties! Now we just need a blind guy smiley! Did I say that out loud?

Duane,

The 1WG 400 rotors are actually slightly smaller in diameter than the 3HE 600 units. IIRC, they are 280mm (?) and 298mm respectively. The caliper bosses on the 1WG fork lowers are closer to the axle by the amount of the difference (18mm in this case). If I get a minute, I'll try to dig up the 3EN2 numbers. Like I mentioned, my gut tells me that they're the same size as the 600 rotors. Check out the Rampant Racing page. It may have the numbers:

http://www.rampant-racing.com

At the bottom, there is a link to a 400 identifier page.

BTW Mike,

If you're looking into buying new rotors, EBC still makes replacements for the 400. Just make sure you specify that they're for a '90 as the '88 / '89 units are different.

Yeah i know ebc makes rotors, but the ones in the Uk are pretty sweet looking. That link you gave me still didnt tell me what bike i have. Yamaha made way to many versions of this bike :ermm: . I will have to have the guy measure the disc and see if there the same size, and check the hole patterns.

My betting is he forgot the comma between 1WG , 3EN2 as they are TWO totally different model series of 400 they may share part that are the same for both models check a parts Fiche on the web.

The US model 1WG stopped production in 1987 for the rest of the world (the US got the left overs). The 1990 US model had some small updates that made it more like the 2TK (which was for 1988) frame I think. The 3EN 1&2 had a lot more different things. The fact that the guy is saying they are for the 3EN model should be your answer. But best way to find out is to take the rotor off and measure the diameter and the offset. That way the seller can compare to what he has in the shop.

One thing I've noticed is that you need to be careful when talking about models in Europe. Sometimes production dates get mixed up with import dates. Can get very confusing.
Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.

Mike,

Please go back and read my previous posts. If your rotors measure 298mm, you do not have 400 fork lowers. The PO probably fitted 600 forks. You cannot order 400 rotors with that set-up. They will be too small. Also, the '88 / '89 rotors are not interchangeable with the '90 rotors. Yes, they are the same diameter. However, the inner carrier on the '90 units is offset ('88 / '89 are flat).

Finally, put up a pic so we can put an end to this not being sure of what model you have business. The 1WG was the only 400 that was legally imported to the U.S. I'm pretty sure it's what you have.

Ok Brandon, my bike looks just like your 400. My disc are 298mm, so there from a 600 fzr hmmmmm. What is the caliper spacing on the 600 forks ? mine is 100mm apart. My bike is in a million parts, but i will try to take pics of the forks and front disc.

R6 blue dots bolt on to 600 forks ?. I just checked my forks, and there 100mm spacing, and the blue dots bolt right on, is the 600 forks same spacing ?
