hi does anyone know if a fzr600 generator cover will fit a fzr400?

Depends on the year of the 400. Some mount the stator on the crankcase under the rotor, some mount the stator in the cover itself. The styles don't mix & match.

I'm pretty sure you can use a fzr600 cover on a fzr400 as the 400 stator is not attached to the cover, however you can't use a fzr400 cover on a fzr600. This applies to the non 3tj models of fzr400, the 3tj ones you may be able to use on a 600.
