Gearbox noise

Hi guys, it’s been a little while since I was last on, been busy with my bike club.

I am getting some gear box noise. Symptoms are a bearing noise which is noticeable at idle in neutral and decreases with the clutch pull in.
I have replaced the clutch basket needle roller bearing thinking that may be the culprit but this has not helped. The noise does not effect
clutch operation or gear changes.

Wondering if anyone has a similar problem and knows the possible cause?

FZR's are NOT renown for being quiet running engines.

BUT saying that you are right to take listen use a mechanics stethascope or a very long handled screwdriver pressed to the base of the ear / jaw line to localize the noise.

is it a rattle or a whirr?
if it a rattle check the clutch basket look at the teeth on the basket have they any grooves on there they should be smooth , if its a whirr i would go with the clutch release bearing

Its a whirr sound.
I dont think the 400 has a clutch release bearing?
The clutch push rod spins on a single steel ball.

I was thought that There was gear warn in the transmission. So You have required to change the gear box kid. It would be great for you. I wish that You will find nice gear box.
