Did you try bikebandit.com I went on there real quick but I didn't know what year you were needing. Also didn't know if the uk was different than the us as far as the 3tj 400.

Chris.

Bike Bandit does not have part numbers for a 3TJ. You could buy one of the microfiches on eBay. But what shape are the intake ports on the head? If they are round, then a FZR400 or 600 should work. If they have more of an elliptical shape to them, then look for some Foxeye or Thundercat intake boots (they are the same).

cheers for the help, i did actually find the part on bikebandit.com under airbox? if there the right ones as the models are all different numbers over there (USA) but i'd imagine they are, and like you said they don't have the actual part number, anyway i'm gonna have a go at the carb's tomorrow and check em out at the same time, not sure if it's them that's the problem they haven't perished that much, some small cracks that don't go right through, depending on p&p from bikebandit they're about 65 quid, got a quote today from a local parts shop and they want £167.96 and that's a back order and'll take weeks, i'll blow the bluddy fuel in rather than pay that,
if anyone can find the microfiche link that'd be handy as there's another shop this side of the pond but they want part numbers, part numbers, part numbers, geeks

Like I said before. Bike Bandit does NOT have part numbers for the 3TJ! You should look at the part you need first. The 3TJ engine has more in common with the YZF600 Foxeye and Thundercat (4JH?) engines than the 1WG / 3HE (FZR400 / 600) engines. Lots of parts are interchangable, but the intake boots on the FZR400/600 are different from the YZF600. They do not line up at all.

cheers for the info that may well come in handy, gives me some more ideas if i'm stuck :duh: i've also also posted on another forum and been shown this gem of a link http://62.5.189.98/yamahaeur/exist/moto ... /FZR400RR/ on the right hand side of the page click on 4dx1(eur), maybe george or someone can add it in somewhere useful (not USA i know, but if you've got a TJ it's probably what you're after)
