Anyone used Factory Pro stuff?

Has anyone used either of these "Factory Pro" products.
http://www.factorypro.com/Prod_Pages/prody01.html
I am having some problems with false neutrals when downshifting, and got passed twice this weekend because of it. Hoping this might clear it up. And the ignition timing advance sounds like it would be great if it works. Any reviews of these products or Factory Pro in general?

Thanks!

Try adjusting your shifter - if your foot is out of position, or needs to reach too far, you might not be prodding the pedal hard or far enough.

I'm given to understand the advancer does in fact work quite nicely; you might want to check the wiki for Reelrazor's How-to on adjusting your timing WITHOUT the advancer.

It's been discussed (both the shift kit and ignition advance) many times so I'm gonna suggest using the search to bring up more results ad reviews

Agreed on foot position. I have the FP shift kit, but I occasionally miss 2nd on an upshift and end up revving the shit out of it in N. The reason is because of where my adjustable rearsets are located. The connecting rod is about 1/4" too short and the lever is a bit too high, so I dont always put enough oomf onto it when shifting. But otherwise the shift kit is a nice addition. It firms up the shift and gives it a nice feel. Ive got most of the FP items that are available for the 600 and I am pretty happy with all of them. In retrospect, the only item I would not buy again is the stage 3 jet kit since I didnt need most of what came in it.

I installed the FP (spring only) shift kit. It seemed to help, but Don's advice is spot on. Try adjusting first.

The FP spring just makes it snap harder when shifting gears.

I got the shift kit with the new arm and an actual bearing in addition to the heavier spring. It did take most of the free play out of the shifts. Im pleased with it.

anyone else find it's a PIA to get into neutral after doing this? Put the spring in over the weekend which was also a PIA to get in. Shifts are alot firmer now though.

Yes. And yes, its a PITA to get in. That was a fun day for me. I have issues getting into N sometimes, after 1000mi Im still trying to get used to it. When Ive been riding, I sometimes find it more difficult to be light enough to not skip N at a light. There is usually at least one light or two every time i go out where I end up just holding the damn lever after 5 or 6 attempts.

This is for a race-only bike, so a little difficulty getting into neutral shouldn't matter too much. If I wanted to try adjusting the lever first as suggested above (to save some $), how would I do this?

Loosen the jam nuts on the linkage between the lever and the shift knuckle. then you can turn the rod in or out to move the position of the lever.

I have also found that my bike is very sensitive to what angle the shift knuckles is at in relation to the shift shaft. If I slip the knuckles onto the shaft one spline off it makes the shifter feel weird. So you might try moving the knuckles one spline in one direction or the other and then try it out and see how it feels.

And since it's race-only, make sure you have your boots on and are in riding position when modifying. It might be best to have a friend help get the shift linkage correct. I put marks on my shift spline for street and race. Helps when I go from one to the other.
