*PING* fukkit

Started stripping the engine down last night.

Was enjoying the familiar "crack" sound as bolts loosened.

Unfortunately, the last "crack" I heard, was more of a "ping", and now I've got a bit of allen key left in one of the headbolts.

Gah!

I can move it, so think it was a dodgy or cracked/overstressed allen key and the tip's just fractured off. But, it's too far in for anything to grab it.

Tips? I'm thinking I'll try some cyanoacrylate glue on a welding rod, and try and lift it out that way.

if its that stuck, the glue wont help probably. try welding another bolt to the head, thats probably the strongest you can get it.

Yeah, and the answer was to tack a bolt to the allen key chunk.

Myself, I would bypass the bolt and just stab arc a 1/16" or 3/32" 6011 rod onto the allen key stub and pull the stinger off the rod immediately.....give it a few seconds to cool and pop it right out
