Started stripping the engine down last night.
Was enjoying the familiar "crack" sound as bolts loosened.
Unfortunately, the last "crack" I heard, was more of a "ping", and now I've got a bit of allen key left in one of the headbolts.
Gah!
I can move it, so think it was a dodgy or cracked/overstressed allen key and the tip's just fractured off. But, it's too far in for anything to grab it.
Tips? I'm thinking I'll try some cyanoacrylate glue on a welding rod, and try and lift it out that way.

Re: *PING* fukkit
if its that stuck, the glue wont help probably. try welding another bolt to the head, thats probably the strongest you can get it.
Re: *PING* fukkit
i think hes asking how to get the peice of allen key out of the head of the bolt it broke off in

Yeah, and the answer was to tack a bolt to the allen key chunk.haro504 wrote:i think hes asking how to get the peice of allen key out of the head of the bolt it broke off in
Myself, I would bypass the bolt and just stab arc a 1/16" or 3/32" 6011 rod onto the allen key stub and pull the stinger off the rod immediately.....give it a few seconds to cool and pop it right out
