she's ready for a makeover

Post by remegio731 »

about 10% say no and the rest say yes to do some mods to my bike, instead of retaching the make-up in her body. this is why i joined myself here inorder to sip some source and information regarding the how to do some mods.

the other day one of my friend said that i am only destroying the image of my bike instead of restoring it to its original state. but mostly vote to say yes, including me. so i decided myself to do this project and have some fun of interest while making the mods

. by the way, thanks to the guys who were organizing the site and those who are contributing to it.

yesterday i'm only thinking to replace the entire fairings but now i decided to include the rear-end( swing arm, the wheel and tire ) im chosing whether the r1 style or the r6. i know that this is not an easy job but this is my challenge. so heres some pics below stripping down my '89 fzr400. i will just keep posted about the development and upload some pics.ImageImageImage
sorry theres an error occured while uploading one of the pics before done stripping, this i have to fix.

Well you have your work cut out for you! Make sure to replace that left peg with an actual front peg. Right now it has a rear peg mounted. Good luck on the fab. We're all here to help if you get stuck.

there were few parts arrived today the 08 r6 swinger and the front tire fairing. i'll choose the newer version swinger from r6 cause its 1.4cm differ from bothside of the stock frame. so theres no problem to cut out the protruding section base frame. and the swinger has to be remain untouched. i have to post some pics later when its done.

finally the swingarm fitted to the frame. i trimed down about half an inch to free the swinger and the chain, it did perfectly. the tail and the tank were in place as well, although there were few rashes and dents on the tail and esp the tank which repaired easily. here are the picsImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

its a '08 r6 tank and i did not touched everything on it except the side plastic cover. i sand it a few mm. shape it to the frame and fit. i dont know on the r1maybe its wide or deep for the fzr frame? ive been lucky the r6 tank is wider on the top than in bottom and its floating, plenty space between the tank and the engine only on the airbox you have to trim or swap individually this i have to work after 3 days.
