“A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.”-Douglas Adams
*sigh* nah, it started out with a new head gasket to solve my overheating problem.. which lead to a timing issue which couldn't get sorted out, which lead to me fixing the timing issue, then the valve blew through the piston.. which also lead to me breaking my speedometer cable off at the wheel by accident, then I noticed that my left fork seal is blown (replaced seals last year at repair shop) and then to top it all off, I snapped the drain plug for the coolant tonight..
Hey if the 600 speedo cable will fit I think I have a spare somewhere I can send ya. Let me know. I'm sorry man! I think most of us here understand the aggravation.
EWWWW, your piston chewed your valves, sucks man, just buy a whole new motor, I see them going for 200-300 bucks, so thats not so bad. Good luck with whatever you do.
I was really hoping it wasn't that. I had my suspicions when we talked earlier. Sorry man. Gives you time though to do something spectacular with the motor and suspension to match the paint. It's a blessing.

Not sure what I'm gonna do just yet.. I'm not getting rid of the bike, that's for sure, but I don't know what I'm gonna do for a motor.. The problem isn't finding a motor to go in the bike.. The problem is getting it here across the border.. I'm willing to head to the border and maybe a little further, but I dunno anyone who'd be willing to meet me somewhere if I actually manage to find something suitable..
And rage, I'm pissed, but yeah, it's cool as hell seeing the damage.. I was actually laughing when I saw what had actually happened for the first time last night.. It sucks yes, but the bike's not dead, just the motor..
