Hi All,
I have recently got off Ebay a 1988-1wg/1989-3EN2 in a sad condition which I will be fixing up as money and time allows. Well the engine and frame is 88 and all the rest seems to be bolted on from a 3en2.
I am in Australia and its a Japanese import. I was hoping some of you more knowledgeable owners could shed some light on a few issues I am having.

1) I have managed to download a number of manuals for some of the Fzr flavors but cant find a 1WG manual.
Would anyone have a copy available?

2) The many manuals I have read describe the same procedure to set the float level on the fuel bowl of the carburetors. Which is measuring a specific distance down for the "float Chamber line"
My problem is I do not have a "Float chamber line" marked on the base of me carburetors

I think that's it for the moment.

Welcome aboard, there are few members in Oz & NZ so you need to add your location in your profile saves someone telling you about a great shop in Pasadena.

The setting up of FZR carbs is not like other Mikuni's & yes our WIKI is the place to look for tech stuff for sure (not only FZR but general engineering to do with modifying bikes.)

Things to do with any bike you just bought:-
Change all Fluids
clean & inspect spark plugs (our are down a deep hole so you need to blow out the crap in that hole BEFORE removing plugs )
Check you Voltage regulator (under LH seat panel (when seated on bike)
If it is a tin can full of rubber remove it and addd anew version heavy finned type (R1 R6) as the originals tend to burn out at the drop of a hat and take out the wiring loom & TDI (black box ignition, our bikes DO NOT have CDI's)

Check swing arm, wheel bearings , steering bearings, tyres & Brakes

That should keep you busy for an hour or two :-}

Sorry but I cant find the information I'am after. I have looked at all the how to stuff.

I am looking for info on how to set the float level when you dont have a "float Chamber mark"
on your carbies.

I think you have to measure from the highest point on the floats to the base of the carb. Don't think there's a mark on the float chambers for measuring the heights. Hopes this helps! Good luck!

Hi Dragon, The picture shows the procrdure listed in all the FZR manuals. As you can see I dont not have the "Float level mark" on my carbies.

Sorry, I have never used this method of setting my float heights. You probably have a different type of carbs, than what's on my fizz. Someone else may be able to help with this.....
