What's in my carbs?

I took my carbs apart for the first time this weekend to give them a good cleaning etc. and find out exactly what is inside them. I'm still not sure...

For background, the bike has K&N pods on it and what I assume is an aftermarket can (it's really loud) but it was laid over and the manufacturer label's gone so I don't know exactly what it is.

Anyway, the pilot jets appeared to say 51.6 on them but it was hard to read. As far as I can tell nobody really replaces these so I'll assume they're stock and not worry.

The needle has 6 clip positions indicating it's a Dynojet needle, as the Factory Pro needle apparently has 5 positions. However, it doesn't have the "step" in the needle as this picture suggests. The shape is smoother, more like the Factory Pro one. I also want to say it has the square top like the Dynojet one does, but I don't remember for sure. Maybe the difference is 600 vs 400?

Image (Thanks for the great pic Rage)

The Main Jets are clearly stamped 110, but they are stamped on the side and all the pics I could find of Dynojet jets show them stamped on top. I didn't look closely at the top of the jets so maybe they are stamped on both the sides AND the top, but I doubt it. The 110's are what comes in the Dynojet Stage 3 kit though, so the size makes sense.

It makes sense that a Stage 3 kit would be installed due to the pods, it's just that some of the little details don't seem to match. I suppose the needles and main jets could be different manufacturers? Doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but I'm no expert.

My settings are as follows:
Pilot: 51.6 (might be wrong, it was hard to read)
Main: 110
Needle: 3rd clip up
Screws: 3.5 turns out

I'm curious because I got an airbox for it so I need to get some new main jets and would like to brand-match what I've already got in there.

Any ideas what I've got? Thanks!

It is probably an older jet kit. Plus, the picture you are referencing from Rage is showing a 600 jet kit not a 400. There could and should be differences between them.

As far as the air box goes, take a look at the Factory Pro web site for the FZR400 stuff. I know on the 600 they have it listed to use pods if going to the stage 3 kit. If you don't see that statement about the 400, you could probably run the stock air box with the jet kit that is in there. Try to get a hold of bweight. He has a 400 with a 400 engine in it (a lot of people here have done the 600 engine swap). He has a new born baby which is why he has not been on here much lately.

Good luck.

That's why I'm here.

I would imagine that it is like CAD stated, either a difference in an earlier style or because you have the 400.

You can purchase jets in a kit or individually on DynoJets website.

Great, thanks for the replies guys. I'll order up the jets today, and make sure I remember to take some pics when I'm in there again.

The DynoJet spec sheet says use stage 1 (82 or 88) with the airbox and stage 3 (110 or 115) with the pods. They're cheap so I'm just going to order the right ones.

Here's a little more info. I got into the carbs again today and this is what my jets look like. Any ideas what brand they may be, or maybe stock? I know stock for the 400 was 87.5 but I thought maybe the PO got stock ones from a 600 or something...

There's a faint "110" punched in the side, and nothing on the top.

I ordered the DynoJet ones anyway, but it's bugging me no knowing exactly what these are.

Thanks again!
