What's the normal powerband of a FZR400? 10,000 and up?

6-7? to 11?

Dude... your looking at the speedo, not the tach!
J/k

On a bone stock 400, its alive from 10ish to 15K
Note, the Rev limiter is 1K past the redline on the tach.

ok, that is how my bike is. it's alive after 10k. mine has ontario headers, k&n pods, stage 3 jets, and yoshi can. so it's not that bone stock. or what i have invested did nothing to my powerband and i just wasted money?

how or what can i do to make it live a lot sooner? re-gear?

Those mods won't effect where the power is made.
The 2 major mods, that will change power at different RPMs...
Cams, either "Degreeing" or after market... and degreeing
Or Ignition Timing.

Re-gearing will offer more usable acceleration with the cost of top-speed

As far as what can you do...
Start by telling us, what you want it to be able to do.
