R6 Exhaust can on a FZR 3EN1 with some pics

Just saw a thread elsewhere on here about the R6 mod for a 250 so thought I should share this here. Basically I couldn't find any decent secondhand exhaust pipes with the exup manifold so I got an aftermarket stainless system without the exup. I decided to fit an R6 end can because it has an exup valve built in to it, thinking it would go someway to compensating for the loss of the original. In my opinion it worked well.

When it's not running the default position of the exup valve on the R6 is 'open' (held in place by spring tension) but on the FZR it is 'closed'. When you connect the exup servo cables you will have to bear this in mind so that it cycles properly.

Here's a link to my thread on the 400Greybike forum with some pictures:

Hope this helps a bit.

That is a very neat job, the up swept can fits in really well with the lines of the bike.

And it sounds pretty good too. Bonus, is I found an actual 400 engine that runs!
