Just a few picks..... thought I had a barging at £500..... nothing worked.... valves and piston rings were shot.... never seen anyone try and repair electrics like that before. List goes on and on. But hopefully it will be finished and MOTed next week. Partner takes her test next week, so hopefully I can hand the keys over

Looks like salt from the roads...allweather-driver which had driven in winter?
Stucked Drain/Wateroverflow hole ...never properly cleaned due to the fairing (="no need to clean when noone could see" or similar stupid thoughts

)...
during the build

Oh, definitely better cleaned then...

Wow that looked bad. Love the use of instant gasket.... I hope my next project goes a little smoother than this one.

It was liquid metal, I guess it was to try and seal the pipes, but the real problem was where a stud had broken part of the head. I used a piece of threaded bar and an exhaust nut to hold it onto the head.
Yeah that hole was a real headache, I tried to drill it but the alloy had corroded into it and I could feel the bit moving to one side. I used a hand tool and penetrating oil to chip it out .... 2 hours.
Lots of cleaning, between my friend and I we made up a rough bodykit then repaired it with Plastex'd and resprayed using aerosols
